JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 509,140 moving vehicles leaving Jakarta on long holidays with vehicle movements starting on 27 October.

"The total volume of traffic leaving Jakarta has increased by 40.3 percent compared to normal traffic," said PT Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru, in a written statement, Friday, October 30.

The number of vehicles moving to leave Jakarta is the cumulative flow of traffic from several main toll gates (GT), namely GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama (East direction), GT Cikupa (West direction) and GT Ciawi (South direction).

As many as 50.02 percent of vehicles moving towards the East, 27.73 percent of the vehicles heading to the West and 22.25 percent towards the South.

Dwimawan appealed to toll road users to be able to anticipate trips before entering the toll road.

"Ensure that vehicles and drivers are in prime condition, comply with health protocols while at rest areas, fill in sufficient fuel and electronic money balances, and comply with signs and directions from officers and take breaks if they are tired of driving," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Korlantas Polri, Kombes Rudi Antariksawan, predicts that the return flow of the long holiday to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday will occur on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, 2020.

"Anticipation of backflow is predicted to occur on Saturday-Sunday," said Kombes Rudi in a written statement received.

Based on the observation of the H + 3 long holiday, the flow of vehicles passing the Palimanan GT was observed to be busy. There is no significant traffic density.

"The two-way traffic flow situation has started to decline, because it has entered the third day," he said.

After leaving Palimanan GT, the Head of the Police Headquarters returned to the toll road to the rest area to directly ensure the comfort and smooth flow of vehicles for people traveling on vacation.
