The arrest of the perpetrator with the initials RM was carried out by the Ujung Pandang Police team and the South Sulawesi Regional Police Resmob on Wednesday, October 28. The perpetrator was arrested while at his boarding house on Jalan Bonto Lanra.

"The Ujung Pandang Police Opsnal Unit and members of the South Sulawesi Regional Police Resmob have arrested the perpetrator of the crime of theft with weight," said Head of Public Relations of the Ujung Pandang Police, Bripka Wandy Bharaduta, confirmed by VOI, Thursday, October 29 evening.

The arrest of the perpetrator was made after the video of the theft of the 30 gram gold bracelet went viral on social media. The perpetrator stole a gold bracelet by pretending to be a buyer at a gold shop on Jalan Somba Opu.

From the investigation, the police came to the perpetrator's boarding house and made an arrest. It was found that the gold bracelet was stolen by the perpetrator and the motorbike he used when he fled after trying on the gold bracelet.

"One gold bracelet weighing 30 grams, 1 unit DD 2247 SD motorbike, 1 black hat the perpetrator used when performing the action," said Wandy.

The perpetrator is currently detained at the Ujung Pandang Police. The police charged him with Article 362 of the Criminal Code.
