JAKARTA - Commissioner of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Idham Holik said that currently there are three political parties (political parties) that have migrated to fill in data in the Political Party Information System (Sipol) for the 2024 Election.

Sipol is a system to facilitate political parties in administering the registration, verification, and determination of political parties participating in the 2024 General Election.

In this case, political parties will enter data online on the official website sipol.kpu.go.id related to required documents such as political party profiles, party membership, party management, to permanent party offices.

Data migration in the form of updating data can only be carried out by political parties participating in the 2019 General Election. Meanwhile, new political parties still have to input data from the beginning in the Sipol.

"We have received several letters of submission for the Sipol data migration process. There are approximately 3 political parties that have submitted them, namely PKP, Democrat, and PKB," said Idham at the KPU RI office, Friday, June 24.

Idham said data migration would make it easier for political parties participating in the previous election to input required documents such as political party profiles, party membership, party management, and permanent party offices.

However, data migration is optional. "So the KPU will carry out the (migration) process according to the stages of the political party's request. The migration process is adjusted to the needs of the political parties," he said.

The KPU gives the opportunity for political parties to access political parties from today until the registration period for political parties closes on August 14, 2022. Meanwhile, the opening of registration for political parties itself is scheduled to start on August 1 for 14 days.

Idham said that Sipol had been used since the 2019 election. He claimed that currently the Sipol system had been updated to minimize obstacles that had occurred in previous elections.

In addition, the KPU also cooperates with 9 ministries/institutions related to information technology, including the National Police and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) to monitor the development of the Sipol system.

"Regarding Sipol security, the KPU currently has cooperation with ministries/institutions related to information technology, and we have formed a task force to monitor and monitor developments at the KPU, especially related to IT," said Idham.
