Many Complaints Regarding The Right Of Eligibility Of Residence, Komnas HAM Makes Guidelines For Apparatus

JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) said that until now there are still many complaints that come to the institution regarding violations of the right to adequate housing.

"On that basis, Komnas HAM has drawn up Standard Norms and Regulations (SNP) regarding the right to an adequate housing," said Commissioner for the Study and Research of the Indonesian National Human Rights Commission Sandra Moniaga in a written statement, Thursday, June 23.

In addition, the urgency of the preparation of the SNP on the right to adequate housing is also motivated by the discovery of discriminatory regulations and policies at the central and regional levels.

Based on this, he continued, Komnas HAM compiled the SNP as a guideline for state officials to ensure that there were no policies and measures to limit or violate human rights.

Komnas HAM is currently conducting a public consultation on the preparation of the SNP on the right to adequate housing which will be held from 22 to 23 June 2022 in Medan City, North Sumatra.

The implementation of public consultations aims to open up the rights of the community to participate in the preparation of the SNP. Including asking for input for the improvement of SNP content material.

He added that the public could still provide input on the draft SNP regarding the right to adequate housing until July 10, 2022. To date, Komnas HAM has issued nine SNPs which can be downloaded on the www.komnasham.go.id page.
