JAKARTA - The Junior Attorney General's Investigator for Special Crimes, Tuesday, June 21, examined nine witnesses related to the investigation into the alleged criminal act of corruption in the import of iron or steel and its derivative products for the 2016-2021 period.

Of the nine witnesses, said the Head of the Center for Legal Information (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, six witnesses were examined in relation to three individual suspects and three witnesses were examined in relation to six corporate suspects.

The six witnesses examined were from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise with the initials GES, B, STH, HS, S, and DTW.

The GES witness referred to Galih Elham Setiawan as Head of the Investigation and Investigation Division (P2) of the Main Service Office (KPU) of Type A Customs and Excise Tanjung Priok.

Witness B referred to Bakhroni as Head of the Surabaya Class II Customs and Excise Laboratory, who was examined regarding the results of testing for iron, steel and/or alloy steel imported by PT Prasasti Metal Utama.

The STH witness referred to Sigit Tri Hatmoko as the Head of the P2 Section at the Belawan Customs and Excise KKP. He was examined to explain what was principally related to border and post-border supervision of steel imports in Belawan from 2018 to 2020.

Furthermore, witness HS referred to Heri Sutikno as Head of the Enforcement Section at the Customs and Excise Office of Merak Customs Intermediate Type. HS was examined in relation to the importation of iron or steel by six companies through Merak Port.

Witness MS referred to Moga Simatupang as Director of Imports at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. Next, witness MA referred to Mohammad Andriansyah as Associate Expert Trade Analysis at the Import Directorate at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, and witness RFDT referred to Raden Fadjar Donny Thanjadi as the Technical Director of Customs at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia.

"This witness examination is to strengthen evidence and complete the filing in the alleged corruption case," said Ketut.

In this case, investigators at the Roundhouse have named nine suspects, namely three individual suspects and six corporate suspects.

Meanwhile, the other six suspects are importers, namely PT Bangun Era Sejahtera, PT Duta Sari Sejahtera, PT Intisource Baja Sakti, PT Jaya Arya Kemuning, PT Perwira Aditama Sejati, and PT Prasasti Metal Utama.
