NTT - The Provincial Government of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) encourages the Scout Movement to be strengthened so that it is able to create a young generation with anti-corruption characteristics.

"In the Scout Movement, there are values of leadership, example, honesty, and so on that can form an anti-corruption attitude for our young generation," said Acting Secretary of the NTT Province, Johanna E Lisapaly in a written statement, Tuesday, June 21.

He said this was related to anti-corruption education being carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) through anti-corruption technical guidance activities to various elements in Kupang which took place from 21-22 June 2022.

Johanna said the central government had issued the Scout Movement program as a mandatory non-formal (extracurricular) activity.

Therefore, the provincial government continues to strengthen the Scout Movement in SMA/SMK schools which are under the authority of the provincial government.

In addition, it also encourages district/city governments to also strengthen the Scout Movement in elementary and junior high schools.

"We want the good values in the Scout Movement to continue to be embedded in the next generation who will lead the nation and state," he said.

Johanna further explained that within the provincial government, efforts to eradicate corruption were also carried out through reforming the system in order to reduce the opportunities for corrupt practices to emerge.

"In the implementation of development and services to the community, we create a system to prevent corrupt practices through standard operating procedures, so that the public can clearly know what the mechanisms, regulations, financing, timing, and so on are," he said.

He said the provincial government is also committed to following up on what has been initiated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) through the Coordination and Supervision of Prevention (Korsupgah).

"We are following up on action plans that have been mutually agreed upon in accordance with existing provisions or regulations," he said.
