JAKARTA - Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf or familiarly called Gus Yahya said his party would first study the details of the corruption case that ensnared PBNU General Treasurer Mardani H. Maming before making a decision.

"We have heard the news. However, we will study it later, yes, because this is only today. Now we do not know in detail how the matter actually sits. We will study it later," said Gus Yahya, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 20.

According to him, NU has clear mechanisms and requirements to determine their attitude or act, so they need to first confirm the truth about the case.

In fact, he added, if the case has been studied and it is known with certainty about the problem, PBNU will also provide legal assistance as appropriate.

In addition, said Gus Yahya, PBNU will also hold a press conference in accordance with existing norms, both legally and in the context of PBNU's internal norms.

"Right now, we don't know in detail how the case actually sits. We will study it later. So, we will hold a press conference later as appropriate according to existing norms, both legally and in the context of PBNU's internal norms," explained Gus Yahya.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had asked the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent Mardani Maming from traveling abroad.

"That's right, it is valid from June 16, 2022 to December 16, 2022," said Sub-Coordinator of Public Relations of the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Achmad Nur Saleh.

The prevention of going abroad for Mardani Maming is related to the alleged corruption case that is being investigated by the KPK.

Acting (Plt) KPK Spokesperson Ali Fikri confirmed that the KPK had submitted a request for prevention abroad against Mardani Maming and one other person.

"Based on the information we have received, it is true that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has submitted a request to prevent immigration from two people regarding the alleged corruption that we are currently investigating," said Ali.

Currently, he said, the KPK is still collecting and completing evidence related to the investigation of the case.

On Thursday (2/6), the KPK asked for information from Mardani Maming, who is also the General Chair of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi), in the investigation into the alleged corruption case.

After being questioned, Mardani admitted to providing information regarding his problems with businessman Andi Syamsuddin Arsyad or Haji Isam.

"I'm here as an investigation to provide information on the investigation. The point is that I'm here, this is my problem with Haji Syamsuddin or Haji Isam, the owner of the Jhonlin Group," said Mardani at the time.

Mardani Maming's name was previously mentioned in the alleged corruption case in the transfer of mining business permits (IUP) in Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, which ensnared the former Head of the ESDM Office of Tanah Bumbu Regency, Raden Dwidjono Putrohadi Sutopo.

Dwidjono is now a defendant and the case is still being tried at the Banjarmasin Corruption Court (Tipikor).

However, Mardani denied that he was involved in the case when he was the Regent of Tanah Bumbu.
