Visit IKN, Airlangga: This Is Not An Ordinary Project, It Must Be Completed

PENAJAM PASER UTARA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto admitted that his party is fully committed to fully support the development of the Capital of the Archipelago (IKN) in East Kalimantan. Airlangga emphasized that IKN construction must be completed properly and on time.

According to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, President Joko Widodo has given a development target that can be implemented quickly. Later, the Indonesian Independence ceremony will be held at the new IKN in 2024.

“IKN development is expected to be carried out properly and completed on time. According to President Joko Widodo's order, the Independence Day ceremony on August 17, 2024 will be held in the Capital of the Archipelago," said Airlangga while visiting the IKN Zero Point in East Kalimantan, Saturday, June 18.

During his visit to Point Zero, Airlangga invited all party elites bearing the banyan tree symbol.

Airlangga emphasized that Golkar's presence at the North Penajam Paser was a form of full support so that the extraordinary project at IKN could be completed completely.

"This is not an ordinary project, so it must be carried out thoroughly," said Airlangga.

The Coordinating Minister for the Economy and a group of high-ranking Golkar officials took the time to review the progress of dam construction at IKN, which has reached 55 percent. According to Airlangga, the construction of the dam is the basis for life in IKN later.

"It is hoped that with this ready-made infrastructure, this city can be built, become the central city of government, the center of the symbol of the future city," said Airlangga.

The figure who was agreed by the Golkar National Conference to be promoted as a presidential candidate added that apart from Golkar, other political parties have also expressed support for the completion of the IKN development. Evidently, the DPR and the government have agreed on the IKN Bill to become a law.

"What is being built is not the North Penajam Paser City, but what is being built is the future of Indonesia," said Airlangga.

The chairman of Golkar directly inspected the location of the IKN together with the board of the banyan party DPP. Among other things, Golkar Secretary General Lodewijk Paulus who is also Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Deputy Head of Golkar for Communications and Information, Nurul Arifin, Chairman of Commission I of the House of Representatives Meutya Hafid, Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung, and members of the Golkar faction at the Commission.
