Gus Nur's Case, Bareskrim Will Examine Refly Harun

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Cyber Crime Directorate, Bareskrim, Polri will examine constitutional law expert Refly Harun. Refly Harun was summoned as a witness for the suspect's hate speech with the suspect Sugi Nur Rahardja alias Gus Nur.

The examination of Refly Harun is because he is the owner of the YouTube account that uploaded the video of Gus Nur's statement.

"Who recorded, who edited, who invited or uploaded, all of them will be summoned," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, to reporters, Tuesday, October 27.

In handling cases, investigators will also examine the owner of the MUNJIAT Channel Youtube account. In this case, there were two accounts that posted videos that were suspected of containing hate speech content.

"There are two of them, all examined by investigators," said Awi.

During the investigation process, the Police have examined witnesses and experts. Two of them are reporters and the rest are criminal and language experts.

Previously, Bareskrim Polri investigators detained Sugi Nur Rahardja alias Gus Nur for the alleged spread of hate speech. The detention was carried out after Gus Nur was named a suspect.

Gus Nur was officially named a suspect in a case of spreading hate speech shortly after being arrested at his residence in Pakis District, Malang, East Java, on October 24.

Gus Nur was reported by the Head of the Cirebon Branch of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Management Azis Hakim to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit. The report numbered LP / B / 0596 / X / 2020 / Bareskrim dated 21 October 2020.

The reporting was because Gus Nur was considered to be spreading information that caused hatred or enmity related to Nahdlatul Ulama through a statement he uploaded on the MUNJIAT Channel Youtube account on October 16, 2020.

In reporting, Gus Nur allegedly violated Article 27 paragraph (3) and Article 28 paragraph (2) of Law Number (UU) 19/2016 on Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE).
