JAKARTA - Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) encourages the National Police to conduct a review (PK) on the results of the National Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) AKBP Raden Brotoseno.

The request is in line with the Regulation of the Indonesian National Police (Perpol) Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission is officially promulgated.

"ICW encourages that the escalation of the handling can be increased to a retrial of the code of ethics and the final decision is to dishonorably dismiss Brotoseno," said ICW researcher Kurnia Ramadhana when confirmed, Saturday, June 18.

In addition, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo was asked not to hesitate to speed up the PK process on the results of the KKEP Session. This is because the consideration of the ethical decision against Brotoseno is considered odd and problematic.

In fact, the National Police Chief was also asked to temporarily suspend AKBP Brotoseno. The goal is that prisoners in corruption cases can focus on facing ethical trials.

"Considering that the review process until the final decision takes quite a long time, ICW asks the National Police Chief to temporarily suspend Brotoseno from his position," said Kurnia.

Previously, the National Police immediately conducted a review (PK) regarding the results of the trial of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) which decided not to fire AKBP Raden Brotoseno.

This effort was made after the Regulation of the Indonesian National Police (Perpol) Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics was officially promulgated.

The Perpol is also contained in the State Gazette number 587, 2022 and was promulgated after being signed by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly.

This Perpol is the result of the evaluation and amendment of the National Police Chief Regulation (Perkap) number 14 2011 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics of the Republic of Indonesia National Police and Perkap Number 19 of 2012 concerning the Organizational Structure and Work Procedure of the Indonesian National Police Code of Ethics.

Article 83 states that the National Police Chief has the authority to review the KKEP decision or the KKEP Appeal decision which is final and binding.
