JAKARTA - Plt. Head of the DKI Regional Owned Enterprises Development Agency (BP BUMD), Budi Purnama, said that the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate is currently auditing the finances for the implementation of Formula E with external auditors.

"A special audit of Formula E is being conducted. So, we don't want any problems in the future, reflecting on last year's," Budi told reporters, Friday, June 17.

The external audit in question starts from the private sector, then independent auditors from the public accounting firm (KAP), to the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

"We are with our Inspectorate friends from now on being tektokan. If the inspectorate is internal to the provincial government. Now it is private. When it is finished, KAP enters, then BPK enters," he said.

Budi said that this special audit was in progress. It is estimated that the inspection process regarding income and expenditure will be completed in July.

"The implementation has just been completed on June 4. The audit will be at least 1.5 months. Hopefully, it will be out by mid-July," said Budi.

Previously, member of the PDIP faction, Gilbert Simanjuntak, saw that the organizers had hidden something about the calculation of income from the implementation of Formula E.

Considering that until now, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) BUMD as the organizer has not disclosed the benefits of Formula E, either to the DPRD or to the public.

Even though the DKI Provincial Government and a number of DKI DPRD members claim that Formula E Jakarta has been successfully held, Gilbert views that this cannot be used as a shield to cover the transparency of the projected revenue from the race.

"The event is claimed to be a success without data, and seems to cover the existing problems. The issue of an extraordinarily large budget for the event seems to be meant to be covered up because it has already been implemented," said Gilbert.

Therefore, Gilbert requested that the budget spent on profits from the electric car racing event be audited specifically by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) or an independent auditor.

"The amount of the Formula E budget that came out, and the boasting of those who said it was profitable, and the criticisms addressed to the Governor and his staff should be answered with valid data. That data is very precise and good if it is audited by a third party, with a 5 star auditor or by BPKP with a special audit," he said.

Gilbert also urged Anies to be willing for Formula E to be audited by the external party. "The honesty or lies of the Governor and his staff in this matter will be real, not just polish or words if they are willing to be thoroughly audited. We need leaders who are according to actions and words," added Gilbert.
