60 Officers Deployed To Supervise PMK In Solo, Sellers Of Impromptu Sacrificial Animals Still Monitored

Central Java - The Solo City Government will deploy 60 officers to monitor the sacrificial animals sold, including impromptu traders. This effort was made to deal with the spread of mouth and nail disease (PMK) ahead of Eid al-Adha 2022

Head of the Food Security and Agriculture Office of Solo, Eko Nugroho, said that dozens of officers will check the health condition of the sacrificial animals.

They will later be distributed to a number of places selling sacrificial animals. He said if during the inspection it was found that there were animals that were positive for FMD, it would be continued with isolation.

Therefore, his party asked the traders to provide special cages for isolation for animals exposed to FMD.

In addition, he said, every sacrificial animal that is traded must have an animal health certificate (SKKH).

"Traders must be able to show SKKH, including when the animal has been slaughtered and disease is found, which part can be consumed because it must be sorted," he said in Solo, Central Java (Central Java), quoted from Antara, Friday, June 17.

Previously, his party had also been active in conducting socialization related to animal health, especially to the takmir of the mosque.

"We have conducted socialization twice in five sub-districts in Solo City," he said.

Meanwhile, in the city of Solo, up to now, seven livestock have been found to be exposed to FMD. Of this total, two animals have tested positive and five others are indicated for FMD.
