SUKABUMI - Sukabumi Mayor Achmad Fahmi responded to the viral "fun" dance action of a number of young men and women at the Merdeka Square, Sukabumi City, West Java. He asked that this incident not happen again.

"We deeply regret the existence of a group of teenagers who dared to perform inappropriate dances in public and witnessed by many people, ironically again their actions went viral on social media and received criticism from netizens who witnessed it," he said in Sukabumi, quoted from Antara, Thursday 16 June.

According to Fahmi, his party does not prohibit anyone from creating content to be broadcast on social media as long as it is educational, enlightening and empowering. Not like dancing erratically or inappropriately and seeming fun, let alone inviting criticism from various parties.

He also considered that what was done by a group of teenagers was not in accordance with religious and cultural values. Of course, this must be a concern for all parties, especially parents so that children are not wrong in getting along and absorbing information from social media.

In addition, parents must also be able to monitor their children's social media activities, especially if they easily access various information from the internet, it is feared that they will imitate negative things or content.

Anticipating a similar thing to happen in public places in Sukabumi City, his party will increase supervision, especially the Merdeka Field. Even though the field is public and can be used by anyone, it is still necessary to maintain it.

"We also invite parents to pay more attention to their children's activities, so that similar incidents do not happen again. Parents must strictly limit their children's activities on social media and always check their smartphones," he said.
