RIAU - Eby Suherly, one of four corruption suspects in the construction of the Pulau Burung Health Center, finally gave himself up after being a fugitive and has been on the wanted list (DPO) of the Indragiri Hilir District Attorney's Office since March 22, 2022.

The head of the Indragiri Hilir District Prosecutor's Office, Rini Triningsih, said the suspect surrendered himself by coming to the Prosecutor's Office to meet with the Head of Special Investigations Unit, Ade Maulana. Thus, the four suspects for corruption in the construction of the Pulau Burung Health Center have been secured.

"Yes, it's true that he gave himself up on Wednesday (15 June) yesterday, was immediately detained, placed in the Class IIA Tembilahan Prison," Rini said to Antara via a short message in Tembilahan, Riau Province, quoted from Antara, Thursday, June 16.

After receiving the report, Rini said that her party was investigating Eby Suherly as a suspect.

Rini revealed that Eby Suherly was the implementing contractor for the Pulau Burung Health Center Building project worth Rp. 5.2 billion, which was sourced from the Inhil Regency DAK, while the other three suspects, namely Edi Chandra, a Commitment Making Officer (PPK), Hidayat PPTK, and Hendra Danu as a consultant. supervisor.

Based on the results of the inspection, the construction project has a lack of work volume and is not in accordance with the existing contract or RAB (budget draft).

"It is suspected that the existence of inflation in these activities violates and contradicts Presidential Regulation Number 16 of 2018 concerning the Procurement of Government Goods and Services," said Rini.

The report on the results of the audit of the calculation of state financial losses on suspicion of corruption by the four suspects amounted to Rp476,818,201.

The four suspects were threatened with Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 with a sentence of up to 5 years in prison.
