Majority Of Cadres Want Anies-Ganjar Candidate, SC Rakernas NasDem: Not Announced, Surya Paloh Sees Considerations

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Steering Committee (SC) of the National Working Meeting of the NasDem Party, Willy Aditya, explained that the majority of cadres wanted DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo to be promoted as presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election.

"Regarding the names, Anies Baswedan dominates, only 2 provinces did not propose the name Anies. Next is the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, only 4 provinces did not propose Ganjar," Willy said in a press conference on the sidelines of the NasDem National Working Meeting at the JCC , Thursday, June 16.

However, according to Willy, the names are just a suggestion from the DPW. So the party has not yet reached a discussion regarding whether Anies wants to be nominated or not. Because, about the name of the presidential candidate will be communicated with the coalition.

"We don't care about that, we want the candidate being promoted to belong to the coalition. Did he get NasDemkan or not?"

Including Ganjar Pranowo, the chairman of the NasDem Party's DPP, said that general chairman Surya Paloh will definitely consider the names that will be promoted as presidential candidates. NasDem, he said, cannot claim a figure if there is no commitment deal. On the other hand, Ganjar has stated that he is still PDIP.

"In the nomination process, our political commitment is not that. The votes from the DPW are legitimate but the national political policy of Mr. Surya's party will certainly take into account the considerations. maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, maintain political and economic stability. So for Nasdem it is a side note, not a political order, "explained Willy.

"If you still remember when we declared Ridwan Kamil as a candidate for governor of West Java, there were three conditions, the first being the Fortress of Pancasila. Second, you don't need to be a NasDem party cadre, the last one is ready to win Pak Jokowi. should be a side note of the growing aspirations of friends in the regional leadership," he added.

On the other hand, Willy emphasized that to this day the NasDem Party has not yet decided with whom it will form a coalition to discuss presidential candidates.

"We haven't had any communication with the candidates, that's what needs to be underlined. So far, to this day, no communication has been established with the candidates, except with Rahmat Gobel and Syahrul Limpo, communication every day," he said.

It is known that as many as 34 Regional Leadership Councils (DPW) of the NasDem Party proposed the names of presidential candidates in the NasDem National Working Meeting at JCC Senayan, South Jakarta on Thursday, June 16.

The majority proposed the names of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo. In addition to the two names, SOE Minister Erick Thohir and TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa were the most mentioned.

Of the 34 DPWs present, the name Anies was proposed by 31 DPWs. The vote for Ganjar is also only slightly different from Anies, which is 29 DPW. Meanwhile, Erick's name was proposed to be more than 15 DPW and Andika more than 10 DPW.

In addition to these four names, the names of the candidates for president proposed by the regions that are widely mentioned are the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, and the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

Meanwhile, the internal NasDem cadres who have been mentioned include the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachmat Gobel, the Deputy Chair of the MPR Lestari Moeridjat, to the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
