The abrasion in South Minahasa on Wednesday, June 15 also caused damage to 31 houses, a bridge, five inns and a cafe.

Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) had activated the Emergency Response Post to help residents who had to evacuate because their houses were damaged or collapsed due to coastal abrasion.

Abdul said as many as two poskos had been formed to provide efforts to accelerate the handling of displaced residents.

The emergency response post for the South Minahasa BPBD was established at the Lewet Sub-District Office and the Uwuran Dua Sub-District Office, which were used as shelters for residents.

BPBD operates public kitchens at the two posts to help meet the food needs of the displaced residents.
