Residents Of Rawa Bunga Wonder Why Kalijodo Can Be Closed While Gunung Antang, Which Is Known As A Place For Prostitution And Gambling, Cannot Be Closed?

JAKARTA - Residents asked the government and officials to immediately close the localization of Mount Antang, Matraman, East Jakarta. The residents made the request during a mediation process between Gunung Antang and the residents of Rawa Bunga, Monday, June 13. Residents wonder, why can Kalijodo be closed, while Gunung Antang can't?

"Requests from residents ask for the closure of the localization of prostitution and gambling in Gunung Antang. That's a request from residents, it should be closed immediately," said Head of RW 001 Rawa Bunga Dwi Lestari when contacted, Tuesday, June 14.

Dwi said that not only the residents of Rawa Bunga objected to the localization of Mount Antang, but also the residents of Kayumanis and Pisangan. This is because the residents' settlements are close to the localization of Mount Antang which he considers disturbing.

"Because we have talked about the residents of Kayu Manis and Pisangan (Baru) which are located close to Mount Antang," said Dwi.

Dwi also revealed that many residents have asked about the existence of the Gunung Antang localization which is still operating today. He also asked the relevant parties to immediately take decisive steps to close the localization of prostitution.

"Because people ask a lot of questions, what's wrong with that localization that can't be closed? While other localizations can be closed. All of that (Kalijodo) can be closed, why can't Mount Antang be closed?," he asked in surprise.

Confirmed separately, East Jakarta Head of the PP PP Budi Novian stated that the issue of localization of Mount Antang was already under discussion at the East Jakarta City Leadership Conference (Muspiko) level.

"Yes, that's right. The City Government and East Jakarta Muspiko ranks are coordinating with PT KAI because the land is under their control authority. We are ready to help organize and bring order together with PT KAI," he said when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, June 14.
