GARUT - Elements of society and communities who are members of the Prabowo Gus Muhaimin Volunteer Front, Garut Regency, declared support for Prabowo Subianto and Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar as presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election.

"We all know that Pak Prabowo is a national figure who has a military background, especially since he is currently the Minister of Defense, he has a lot of experience in this matter," said Prabowo Barisan Volunteer Coordinator Gus Muhaimin, Ahmad Soleh. June 14.

He said the couple was considered ideal because they represented the military-santri. Gus Muhaimin represented the students. Muhaimin is the grandson of one of the founders of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) who has been in pesantren since he was a child, and is currently in the field of politics successfully fighting for a number of regulations that favor santri and pesantren.

"The Prabowo Gus Muhaimin pair complement each other, yes, nationalist, yes religious, nationalist-religious. So this platform is what this nation needs in the future, in the middle, roughly," he said.

Similarly, the National Coordinator of the Prabowo Gus Muhaimin Front, Rahmat Ari Andi, emphasized that the current global situation is full of uncertainty, both political and economic. This includes, he said, due to the protracted war between Ukraine and Russia.

This condition has an impact on the political and economic situation in other parts of the world, including Indonesia. Not to mention, he continued, the tightening of monetary policy echoed by the United States Central Bank (The Federal Reserve System) or the Fed. "This makes the World Bank predict that many countries will find it difficult to avoid an economic recession," he said.

The big challenge, said Rahmat, could be overcome if the national leadership was in the right hands, and his party considered that Prabowo and Gus Muhaimin were the right people.

Rahmat said the military-santri or nationalist-religious formulation promoted by the Prabowo Gus Muhaimin Front is not just an empty platform that doesn't contain anything.

"Regarding experience in the military and the position as Minister of Defense currently in Prabowo is sufficient experience capital. Especially with Gus Muhaimin, who currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the Coordinator of People's Welfare, where he is focused on welfare politics," he said.
