Holy Prosecutor's Office Frees Mother Who Stealed Clothes At Kliwon Market

KUDUS - The Kudus District Attorney's Office in Central Java has stopped the legal process for the theft of clothes at the Pasar Kliwon Kudus with the suspect Umayah (37) through a restorative justice approach.

"The restorative justice was carried out against the suspect Umayah from Pamotan, Rembang Regency, after obtaining approval from the Attorney General's Office," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Kudus District Attorney's Office, Arga Maramba, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 13.

Previously, he said, the Kudus District Attorney submitted an application to the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office, which was then forwarded to the Attorney General's Office for case exposure.

Since the request was granted, the case was closed so that the perpetrator was free from prosecution for a criminal act. Victims of theft with perpetrators have also made peace without being based on charges.

Then a decree on termination of prosecution (SKP2) was issued so that the perpetrators were released on June 6, 2022.

As for the consideration of the Prosecutor's Office, because the perpetrator has never committed a crime with a maximum penalty of 5 years, he is also the breadwinner of the family, because her husband does not work.

Meanwhile, his reckless action was to meet the needs of his family because the perpetrator also has children with special needs (ABK) who need extra attention.

The theft of the perpetrators at a clothing store in Pasar Kliwon Block A on March 27, 2022, was monitored by a surveillance camera installed in the store.

Seeing the suspicious movements of the perpetrator, one of the shop assistants followed. After being caught because he was proven to have taken 18 clothes with a value of around Rp. 2 million, the perpetrators were handed over to market security officers and forwarded to the City Police.

The Kudus District Prosecutor's Office has also applied restorative justice in the case of violence by a customer against an employee of the Graha Mandiri Kudus Savings and Loan Cooperative (KSP) who wanted to collect a loan arrears. The suspect had a stroke.
