SEMARANG - The alleged corruption case of deposit funds for Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) at the Blora Police, Central Java, which occurred from August to December 2021 was only revealed after an audit in early 2022.

This was stated by witnesses who are members of the Blora Police during their examination at the Corruption Court in Semarang, Central Java, Monday, June 13.

The two defendants who were tried in the trial led by Chief Justice Rochmad, respectively Bripka Etana Fani Jatnika and First Brigadier Eka Maryani, both were husband and wife.

As explained by Bripka Febri Dwi Putra, registration officer for driver's license affairs at the Traffic Unit of the Blora Police, the alleged corruption was revealed when the two police officers were summoned by the Head of Traffic for an audit conducted by the Central Java Police in January 2022.

"We were asked for information because there was an audit regarding the shortage of PNBP," said Bripka Febri as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 13.

Another witness, Aipda Ririn Yuli Purnamawati, also admitted that she only found out about the irregularity of PNBP funds during the audit.

Ririn himself is the Admission Treasurer of the Blora Police Traffic Unit who replaces the position of the defendant Eka Maryani.

From his experience serving as revenue treasurer, said Ririn, certainty about PNBP funds that have been deposited or not is only known by the treasurer himself.

He explained that the revenue treasurer was tasked with depositing PNBP funds from a holding account at the police station to the State Treasury through the Simponi application belonging to the Ministry of Finance.

"In the past, the assistant treasurer handed over PNBP receipts in cash to the revenue treasurer. Now, they never receive cash, each assistant treasurer deposits directly into the holding account," he said.

From the escrow account, he then deposited it into the State Treasury account through the Simponi application.

It was also stated that from the total PNBP of around Rp. 17 billion that must be deposited in 2021, there was a difference of around Rp. 3 billion which was allegedly misused by the two defendants.

Previously, a husband and wife members of the Blora Police Brigade, Etana Fani Jatnika and First Brigadier Eka Maryani were charged with corruption in the PNBP deposit at the Traffic Unit of the Blora Police, which cost the state Rp. 3.049 billion.

The alleged corruption that took place in 2021 was revealed when a year-end closing check was carried out in January 2022.

During the check, it was discovered that there was evidence of a deposit whose funds had not been paid by the defendant Eka Maryani, who was always the recipient treasurer at the Blora Police Traffic Unit.

From the investigation, it turned out that the money that should have been deposited into the State Treasury was used for the personal interests of the two defendants.

The defendant Etana Fani Jatnika entered the money which was the PNBP fund into his PayPal account in several stages with varying amounts. The money entered in the account will be deposited and is expected to get a bonus.
