Odd-Even Area Expansion Trial Ends, 1,764 Riders Violate

JAKARTA - The trial scheme for the expansion of 13 odd-even areas for a week has ended. Noted, more than a thousand motorists violated these rules.

"The number of prosecutions with warnings or appeals is 1,764," said Head of the Gakkum Sub-Directorate of Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Jamal Alam in his statement, Monday, June 13.

From the data on prosecution, during the trial which took place from June 6 to 12 yesterday, there were five points with the highest number of violations.

First, on Jalan Kramat Raya with 193 offenders. Then, Jalan Kyai Caringin with 190 violators, Jalan Pramuka with 178 violators.

Then, Jalan Gajah Mada with 169 violators and on Jalan Balik Papan with 135 violators.

With the completion of the trial period, continued Jamal, from today the pattern of prosecution with ticketing will be applied to the 13 new points.

The ticketing process is carried out either manually or electronically. Because, there are two points or areas where the ETLE camera has been installed.

"There are 2 locations that have been supported by ETLE, namely Jalan Hayam Wuruk and Jalan Merdeka Barat. Meanwhile, 11 other road sections have no ETLE, which means that monitoring and prosecution of gage violations will be carried out with a ticket," said Jamal.

For information, Polda Metro Jaya and Pemprov DKI Jakarta agreed to expand the implementation of odd-even. Originally there were only 13 points, now it is 26 points.

There are also 13 new points that the odd-even scheme applies, including Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Suryopranoto, Jalan Balikpapan.

Then, Jalan Kyai Caringin, Jalan Pramuka, Jalan Salemba Raya on the west side, Jalan Salemba Raya on the east side - Simpang Paseban - Simpang Diponegoro, Jalan Kramat Raya, and Jalan Senen Station.
