Tightening Foreigner Supervision, Bangka Regency Government Will Visit Oil Palm Plantation And Tin Seed Mine BUMN Partner PT Timah Tbk

BABEL - The Bangka Regency Government of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) has tightened the supervision of foreigners from a number of countries in the regions involving various authorized institutions.

"Tighter supervision of foreigners is to ensure the completeness of document permits during activities in the Bangka Regency area," said Bangka Regent Mulkan in Sungailiat, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 13.

According to him, the district government has formed a foreigner surveillance team (Tim Pora) consisting of the National and Political Unity Agency, TNI AD, Navy, Attorney General's Office, Polri, Civil Service Police Unit and other relevant agencies.

Mulkan said that the supervision of foreigners is regulated in the applicable regulations, such as Permendagri number 49 of 2010 concerning the supervision of foreign workers and foreign social organizations and Permendagri number 50 of 2010 concerning the supervision of foreign workers in the regions.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Unity and Political Affairs Agency of Bangka Regency, Kusyono Aditama added, the Pora Team will soon go directly to the field to supervise foreigners working in private companies such as oil palm plantations and tin ore mining activities on production suction vessels (KIP) partners. PT Timah Tbk.

"The Pora team will go down to the field to supervise and guide foreigners who work in private companies, both in oil palm plantation companies and on suction vessels producing tin ore mining," he explained.

It was recorded that until the end of April 2022 the number of foreigners in Bangka Regency as many as 134 people came from citizens of Thailand, Malaysia, India, Korea and Taiwan.

"Foreigners recorded in 2022 according to reports from each company, the number is almost the same as in 2021 despite the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.

He said the number of foreign workers working on tin ore suction vessels tends to change or adjust activities in the mining area because at certain times the tin ore suction vessels with foreign workers will move to other districts to adjust the production of mining products.
