SEMARANG - Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of Central Java (Central Java) Taj Yasin Maimoen asked the regional administrators of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) at the provincial and district/city levels to complete the legality of land and mosque assets.

"This will support DMI's role in various fields in Central Java, one of which is mosque-based economic empowerment," he said in Semarang, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Sunday 12 June.

Therefore, DMI Central Java needs to coordinate with mosques in districts/cities to record assets starting from the sub-district level, including taking care of certificates and building permits.

The Deputy Governor said that with the completeness of these important documents, the status of land, buildings, and mosque assets became legally clear.

"In addition to the management and legal status of mosques, the role of DMI is no less important in terms of mosque-based economic empowerment," he said.

According to him, various micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) can be developed by DMI to improve the welfare of the people. He also mentioned the charity box in the mosque, which if it is intended for the welfare of the community.

"In mosques there are weekly boxes that can be developed for various businesses such as cafes for visitors to eat and drink, which can improve the community's economy. We will develop this," he said.

The Deputy Governor explained that DMI is an organization that has the power to unite the people because many of the management and members of DMI come from various circles and are active in various organizations.

Thus, in implementing its program, DMI can cooperate with other institutions or organizations in realizing the function of the mosque, to improve the welfare of the congregation and the community in the mosque environment.

The Deputy Governor gave an example, collaborating with the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI) regarding mosque waqf affairs, as well as collaborating with the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) by organizing various trainings for vulnerable communities such as cooking or catering training, creative economy training, building construction training, carpentry, etc.

"So how to empower waqf in Central Java, including mosque waqf in various areas in Central Java. Many mosques in Central Java have large areas of land and their designation can be developed, even MAJT already has a discourse on owning a hospital. We must encourage this," he said. .

The Deputy Governor, who is familiarly called Gus Yasin, hopes that DMI's role will be a force to convey to the public, with clarity on the status of the mosque, the management recorded in the institution, and various efforts to prosper the mosque, the existence of the mosque will be able to protect and make the community comfortable.
