JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has reminded the public of the potential for coastal flooding or rob from 11 to 17 June 2022. Some of these coastal areas include Pademangan, Penjaringan, Sunda Kelapa Harbor, and the Thousand Islands.

Head of DKI Jakarta BPBD Isnawa Adji said, based on information from the Tanjung Priok Maritime BMKG, during the next week the earth is entering the full moon phase which coincides with Perigee or the closest distance of the moon to the earth.

"This has the potential to cause an increase in the maximum tidal height," Isnawa said in his statement, Sunday, June 12.

"People in the coastal areas of DKI Jakarta are advised to be aware of the increase in the maximum height of sea tides which has the potential to cause coastal flooding," said Isnawa.

On that occasion, Isnawa reminded the public to always monitor the latest information about sea waves on the bpbd.jakarta.go.id/gelombanglaut page.

If you find an emergency that requires help, Isnawa urges you to immediately contact the Jakarta Alert 112 Call Center.
