"The achievement of the 1st vaccination for children is the highest in East Belitung reaching 108.03 percent and the lowest in Central Bangka 88.43 percent," he said.

The coverage of the 2nd COVID-19 vaccination specifically for children has reached 118,607 or 81.69 percent of the total target spread in Pangkalpinang City 17,301, East Belitung 11,066, South Bangka 16,406, Central Bangka 15,095, West Bangka 17,744, Belitung 15,390 and Bangka 25,605 children.

"East Belitung Regency has the second highest vaccination achievement, reaching 96.22 percent and Central Bangka being the lowest at 70.54 percent," he said.

According to him, vaccination is important to reduce morbidity and mortality from COVID-19, achieve herd immunity, protect and strengthen the health system as a whole, as well as maintain productivity and minimize social and economic impacts.
