Through This Service, Bina Darma University Palembang Publishes Digital Diplomas

JAKARTA - The use of digital-based diplomas and transcripts has begun to be applied for the sake of

systemic and sustainable fulfillment of higher education standards. Including following the development of digital technology in the industrial revolution 4.0.

Bina Darma University, became one of the pioneers in carrying out digital transformation through the transition of diplomas and transcripts into digital form.

This university collaborates with PT Digital Prima Sejahtera as the developer of the DIMENSY platform for digital security products which include digital signatures, digital stamps, and e-stamps based on one stop & integrated services.

"Digital diplomas and transcripts have legal force, and are safe from forgery or alteration. So that the public and graduates of Bina Darma University do not have to worry about the implementation of this new policy," explained the Chancellor of Bina Darma University Palembang, Sunda Arian in an electronic message sent received in Jakarta, Friday, June 10.

"If there are parties who are in doubt, they can contact the rectorate of Bina Darma University or verify and authenticate documents online," he added.

Based on Article 1 point 9 and number 10 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, diplomas and electronic graduation documents are official Electronic Certificates because they are given and audited by the Electronic Certification Operator.

In relation to the importance of interconnected elements of digital transformation, Indonesia has Presidential Regulation Number 95/2018 concerning an Electronic-Based Government System. The presence of this policy supports the process of digitizing public services or educational institutions.

President Director of PT Digital Prima Sejahtera Adios Purnama added, "All diplomas and Digital Transcripts issued by Bina Darma University are cryptographically secured, guaranteeing the content and validity that these documents cannot be changed and have been certified.

"We really support the digitalization efforts carried out by Bina Darma University on the occasion of this year's graduation. Because with digital signatures, the validity of diplomas and transcripts can be checked directly by interested parties.

"For example, when alumni apply for work at an agency, they can be checked without a long process and of course it is safer than the practice of falsifying diplomas," he said.

Diplomas and transcripts in digital format will be affixed with digital signatures by the Chancellor and Dean of Bina Darma University which can be verified through a scanning application. In addition, Digital Diplomas and Transcripts have a much better level of security.
