SAUMALAKI - Investigators from the Tanimbar Islands District Attorney's Office, Maluku, have detained two suspects in the alleged corruption of the APBD, each ZE and DZB. ZE is a former sub-district head while DZB is the treasurer of Selaru District.

"Investigators of the Tanimbar Islands District Prosecutor's Office today handed over the suspect with evidence of the alleged corruption of the Tanimbar Islands Regency APBD in Selaru District for the 2018 Fiscal Year," said Head of the Tanimbar Islands District Attorney's Office, Gunawan Sumarsono at a press conference in Saumlaki, Antara, Friday, 10 June.

ZE and DZB were detained at the Tanimbar Islands Police Detention Center for the next 20 days.

"So we will leave it at the Tanimbar Islands Police because our prison can only accept prisoners after the transfer of cases to the court. So the procedure is like that," said Kajari Tanimbar.

Kajari explained that his party had appointed seven prosecutors, namely M. Dedy Fahiezi, Bambang Irawan, El Imanuel Lolongan, Andi Abdurrozzak Rifan Adha, Jerry Nikolas Alfdo Pattiasina, and Muhammad Fazlurramhan Kormadin.

Furthermore, this case will be transferred to the Corruption Court at the Ambon District Court.

"If it is still in the COVID-19 (outbreak) condition, the trial may be conducted online from here," he said.

Kajari said the total state loss based on an audit received from the Regional Inspectorate of the Tanimbar Islands Regency amounted to Rp600 million.
