JAKARTA - The Commander of the XVIII/Casuari Military Command, Major General Gabriel Lema, emphasized that the synergy between the TNI and Polri should not only be limited to a slogan, but must be realized in every task and service every day.

"I and the Kapolda always say that the TNI-Polri synergy lies not only in the slogan, but further than that there is a sense of belonging, this is the most important thing. The meaning of the TNI-Polri synergy is a sense of belonging, mutual love, sharing and support each other," said Major General Gabriel in Wasior Papua, Antara, Friday, June 10.

On the sidelines of a visit to Teluk Wondama Regency to close the TMMD activities, the Kasuari Military Commander and his entourage took time to visit the Wondama Bay Police Headquarters, West Papua.

Major General Gabriel admitted to having a special relationship with the National Police because his late father was a member of the Bhayangkara Corps with the last rank of Adjunct Inspector of Police One alias Aiptu.

"I became like this because I ate police rice. I am the son of a police officer. My father died with the rank of Aiptu," said Maj. Gen. Gabriel, a native son of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The Pangdam motivates Wondama Police personnel to continue to be enthusiastic about pursuing a career to the highest level.

"I am the son of a police officer. My father retired to the rank of Aiptu. I am number eight of eight children, the youngest. My children at the Wondama Police must be able to do more," he said.

He said his visit to the Wondama Bay Police Headquarters was part of the realization of the synergy between the TNI and Polri.

Teluk Wondama Police Chief AKBP Yohanes Agustiandaru admitted that all ranks of the Teluk Wondama Police were happy and honored for the visit of the number one person in the Kasuari Kodam.

"We are very happy to be visited by Mr. Pangdam. We are honored. We express our deepest gratitude," said the Chief of Police.

In addition to visiting the Wondama Bay Police Headquarters, the Kasuari Military Commander and his entourage also visited the Wondamawi Inpres Elementary School in Manopi Village, Wasior District to give gifts to students.
