SEMARANG - The activities of the Khilafatul Muslimin group in Central Java are being investigated intensively by the Central Java Regional Police. In Surakarta, Sukoharjo and Klaten, the police questioned a number of activists from these organizations. Not only that, the police together with the residents went to the local khilafatul muslimin office and removed the nameplate of the organization.

In this regard, the Head of Humas for the Central Java Police, Kombes M Iqbal Alqudusy, confirmed and stated that the activities carried out in Surakarta, Sukoharjo and Klaten were based on reports of residents' concerns.

"In the three districts, residents and a number of religious exponents have complained about the activities of the Khilafatul Muslimin and are restless because the ideology being spread is dangerous because it contradicts Pancasila," Iqbal said in a written statement, Friday, June 10.

Based on the report, said Iqbal, the police then went to the location with the local RT and RW administrators.

"The police then held a dialogue with the Khilafatul Muslimin management at the location. Both in Surakarta, Sukoharjo and Klaten, all of them were willing to remove the organization's signboard," he added.

The commotion caused by the Khilafatul Muslimin, said Iqbal, must be responded to immediately because the impact has caused a polemic in the community.

"The police are obliged to handle citizen complaints regarding this matter, referring to Law No. 2 of 2022, the Indonesian National Police (RI) article 5 paragraph 1 letter B, the POLRI is obliged to be able to resolve citizen disputes," he explained.

Previously, a number of police leaders in three areas of Central Java immediately intervened in dialogue with followers of Khilafatul Muslimin and monitored the release of the organization's nameplate on Thursday, June 9.

In Surakarta, Surakarta Police Chief Kombes Asep Safri visited the location of the Khilafatul Muslimin office at Gang Sawo IV, Karangasem, Laweyan District. At that location, Kombes Asep immediately met with the local RT management and had a dialogue with the local Khilafatul Muslimin management.

"After the dialogue, they are willing if the organizational board is removed," said the Chief of Police.

Meanwhile in Sukoharjo, a similar activity was led by the Sukoharjo Police Chief, AKBP AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan, at the Khilafatul Muslimin Office in Polokarto District.

More than that, said the Klaten Police Chief, his party is also investigating the activities of the Muslim Khilafatul in his area.

"Polres Klaten also carried out a number of police activities, such as searching and securing evidence such as convoy videos, books and computers," he added.

He also stated that his party is currently also asking for information from the four administrators of the Khilafatul Muslimin.

"There are four people who are being examined by the management. This is still being investigated, after that we will hold a case for the next stage," said the police chief to the media.
