JAKARTA - The findings of the NEW INDONESIA Research & Consulting survey show that the level of satisfaction with President Jokowi remains high at 80.6 percent, even among them 9.6 percent are very satisfied.

"Even though it tends to stagnate, the level of public satisfaction with Jokowi is still high," said Executive Director of NEW INDONESIA Research & Consulting Andreas Nuryono in a press release in Jakarta, Thursday, June 9.

This figure, he said, slightly increased from the results of the previous survey in February 2022 which was recorded at 79.3 percent.

Meanwhile, the level of dissatisfaction fell from 19.6 percent to 17.3 percent, of which 1.1 percent felt very dissatisfied. The remaining 2.1 percent said they did not know/didn't answer.

"If you look at the economic growth rate in the first quarter of 2022 of 5.01 percent, it experienced a slight contraction compared to the previous quarter," said Andreas. America.

The COVID-19 pandemic situation in Indonesia is under control, marked by many easing of social restrictions. For the first time since 2020, Lebaran homecoming is allowed, resulting in a surge in the number of homecomers.

The high coverage of vaccinations and the results of serological surveys showing the formation of community immunity give confidence and optimism, while maintaining health protocols in every activity in public places.

This makes the level of satisfaction with President Jokowi slightly increased compared to the results of the previous survey. However, it also tends to stagnate due to several things, such as the impact of the post-pandemic world economic recovery, the shadow of a recession and inflation, which must be taken seriously by the government.

The impact of the war has also pushed up prices for a number of strategic commodities, particularly food and energy. Indonesia still imports a lot of food, so it is feared that the national economy will be disrupted again. In fact, cooking oil, where Indonesia is the largest producer of CPO in the world, has also caused a stir in the community.

"As the political year approaches, mistakes in managing the impact of the global economy can become an opportunity to attack government policies, and potentially erode the level of public satisfaction," said Andreas.

The NEW INDONESIA Research & Consulting survey was conducted on 30 May-3 June 2022 on 1,200 people representing all provinces. The survey method is multistage random sampling, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.89 percent and at a confidence level of 95 percent.
