WAKATOBI - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hopes that the 2022 Agrarian Reform Task Force Summit (GTRA Summit) can integrate efforts to resolve community land problems.

This was conveyed by the President when opening the GTRA Summit in Wakatobi Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, Thursday 9 June. The procession was broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).

"I really appreciate this GTRA meeting, which I hope will soon be able to integrate, integrate all ministries, institutions as well as local governments, all working with the same goal, solving land problems that exist in the community," said the President.

The President reminded that land disputes have a broad impact from social to economic aspects.

The reason is that with land dispute resolution, people who get land certificates can open their economic access, for example to access capital from banks and financial institutions.

"Be careful, problems that we cannot solve can spread to social and economic problems," he said.

The President emphasized that integration and synergy between government institutions is an important step in efforts to resolve land disputes, because so far there is still sectoral ego behavior among ministries, institutions and even local governments.

Therefore, the president advised that the integration, synergy and openness that he ordered must really be implemented and not just stop at the discussion at the meeting forum level.

"In the meeting forum 'we have to be open, we have to be open'. In practice, no, that's what we are weak at. Once again all government institutions must be open to each other and synergize with each other," said the President.

The President also emphasized that he can no longer tolerate sectoral ego behavior that can cause state losses, even further losses to society.

"That has stopped. Enough. The problem starts from here, everyone must open up. This is the time for us to destroy this forum which is called the sectoral wall," he added.

The 2022 GTRA Summit in Wakatobi finally took place after two delays from the initial schedule of October 2021 and March following the spike in COVID-19 cases.

Also accompanying the President in the opening of the 2022 GTRA Summit were Minister of ATR/BPN Sofyan Djalil, Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia, Governor of Southeast Sulawesi Ali Mazi, and Regent of Wakatobi Haliana.
