The Reshuffle Issue Blows Again, Gerindra: The President Knows Which Posts Should Be Replaced

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party faction, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, admitted that he had not heard of the cabinet reshuffle that would be carried out by President Joko Widodo. News of a cabinet reshuffle will take place on June 15.

"I haven't heard from palace sources. I think we'll just have to wait, because it's the president's authority," Dasco said at the DPR building, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 8.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party also admitted that he did not know which ministry posts would undergo an overhaul. According to him, President Jokowi definitely knows what ministers must be replaced if there is a cabinet reshuffle.

"I don't know what posts need to be reshuffled. But even if there are, of course the president knows better which areas need to be strengthened, and which areas need to be completely replaced," said Dasco.

Dasco emphasized that the Gerindra Party would fully hand over to President Jokowi if there would be a cabinet reshuffle on June 15.

"We leave it entirely to the president because that is the president's authority and prerogative," concluded Dasco.

Previously, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno had answered the news of the reshuffle which was said to be held on June 15. Pratikno didn't deny it either, but he said that if there was a schedule, it would be leaked little by little.

"What date is it now? Yes, when there is a schedule, let it out a little," said Pratikno.
