JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has banned five witnesses in the case of alleged corruption in land acquisition at the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forests Service (Distamhut) for the 2018 fiscal year.

Head of the Penkum Penkum DKI Jakarta Attorney General's Office, Ashari Syam, said the process had been proposed by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor's Office, Reda Manthovani, since Tuesday, May 24, 2022, to the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"This is related to the investigation into the alleged corruption case for land acquisition by the DKI Jakarta Distamhut in Cipayung District, East Jakarta Administration City in 2018," Ashari said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 8.

The five witnesses were JFR, PWN, HSW, HH and LDS. However, he has not explained in detail whether the five witnesses are potential suspects in this case.

He also explained that this application for prevention abroad was for investigation purposes because their information was needed to facilitate the investigation process.

Ashari said that the five witnesses were prevented from going abroad for six months and could be extended until the investigation process had been completed.

Previously, the Attorney General's Office raised the case of alleged corruption in land acquisition in Cipayung, East Jakarta to an investigation based on the Investigation Order (Sprindik) of the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office Number: Print-01/M.1/Fd.1/01/2022 dated January 19, 2022.

In addition to examining witnesses, the Investigating Prosecutors' Team for the Special Prosecutor's Office of DKI Jakarta also briefly searched the Office of the City Parks and Forests Service of DKI Jakarta Province on Thursday (20/1).

Based on the results of the preliminary investigation, it was found that the notary with the initials LDS together with JFR as a broker or broker made price arrangements for nine land owners in Setu Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta.

The nine land owners only received compensation for land acquisition of IDR 1,600,000 per meter.

Meanwhile, the price paid by the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service to land owners is an average of IDR 2,700,000 per meter.

"So the money from the land acquisition that was enjoyed by the LDS and JFR Notaries was Rp. 17.7 billion and it is suspected that it also flowed to a number of individuals in the Distamhut and related parties," Ashari said earlier.
