JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, targets the integration of tariffs on trips for three public transportation modes in Jakarta to be implemented at the end of June. The three modes are Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta.

This was revealed after the DKI Jakarta DPRD approved the transportation integration fare of IDR 10,000 for 3 hours, with a number of recommendations.

"We hope that it can be executed by the end of June, yes. Because this (integration tariff) is awaited by the community and of course the community will also receive the benefits related to this bundling tariff," Syafrin told reporters, Wednesday, June 8.

Regarding the readiness of infrastructure at bus stops and stations in the operation of this tariff integration system, Syafrin said that it will begin to be prepared in stages since September 2021.

For these three modes, the DKI Provincial Government has added installations to read two payment patterns, namely an integrated system of cards that will be used by the public, as well as a separate payment system that has been running so far.

"Of course, gradually, the cards used by the community will be replaced because all of them will use the (integrated) transportation card model," said Syafrin.

When this integration tariff is implemented, Syafrin targets that there will be an increase in the number of public transport users by up to 2 percent for the first six months. After that, the DKI Provincial Government will re-evaluate the application of integration tariffs, before raising the target number of passengers higher.

In yesterday's meeting, Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD approved the proposal from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government regarding integrated Jakarta transportation fares. This decision was finally knocked after going through several long discussions. DPRD also recommended a trial period of transportation integration tariffs for 6 months.

"The approved integration tariff is Rp. 10,000 with a trial period of 6 months from the date it is set and will be evaluated every 6 months for 1 year to find out the impact of implementing the integration package on community values using the mass transportation model," said Chairman of Commission B of the DKI DPRD, Ismail in the building. DPRD DKI, Tuesday, June 7th.

The next recommendation is that the DPRD asks the DKI Provincial Government to report the number of users or beneficiaries of the integration tariff package every 6 months for 1 year. This report was submitted by separating the data of the youth community who pulled the integration with a DKI Jakarta ID card and a non-Jakarta ID card.
