2 Drug Dealers In Jember Arrested, 1.3 Kg Of Sabu Confiscated

JEMBER - Members of the Jember Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, East Java arrested two drug dealers of methamphetamine type. The evidence seized was 1.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

The two suspects with the initials RA (27) are residents of Tegal Besar Village, Kaliwates District and AM (56) residents of Jember Lor Village, Patrang District.

"From the hands of the perpetrators, the police also secured evidence of 1.3 kilograms of methamphetamine or Rp. 1.5 billion," said Jember Police Chief AKBP Hery Purnomo, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 7.

The arrests of the two shabu-shabu drug dealers began with the arrest of the drug dealer with the initials MNK (44) a resident of Patrang Village, Patrang District.

"At that time the perpetrator with the initials MNK was arrested by the police while at his house. In the process of arresting the police, the perpetrator had to hide on the roof of the house," he said.

The Jember Police Satreskoba managed to arrest MNK and develop the case because it was indicated that there was a bigger dealer on it.

Hery explained that the Jember Police Satreskoba finally managed to apprehend two other perpetrators who are drug dealers in Jember Regency.

"Based on the confessions of the two suspects, the two drug dealers have been conducting narcotics transactions for 7-8 years, but not only in Jember Regency," he said.

To investigators, the perpetrator admitted that he had made transactions in Banyuwangi, Bondowoso and Pasuruan regencies or the Horseshoe area with methamphetamine.

"For the two suspects, Article 114 paragraph 2 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics is applied with a minimum threat of 5 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 billion," he said.

He explained that the police carried out a long search, namely at 22.00 WIB until the next day at 10.00 WIB because the perpetrator hid the methamphetamine on the roof of his house in Kaliwates District.

"We will continue to develop the case by combing the lower and upper networks, so that we will coordinate with the East Java Regional Police in the future," he said.

In Operation Concentration, the Jember Police managed to secure 34 suspects for 10 days or from May 23 to June 3, 2022 in all ranks of the local police station.
