JAKARTA - A passenger on a TransJakarta bus was injured when he was hit by a knife carried by a pickpocket at the Semanggi bus stop.

However, when reprimanded by a witness as well as a victim of persecution named Abdul Rohim, the suspected pickpocket with the initials S denied that he was carrying out a pickpocketing action against the victim, Yunizar, a resident of Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta.

The perpetrator was reprimanded by Abdul, but avoided it, resulting in a quarrel between the two.

"There was a fight on the bus so it continued until the Semanggi stop in the direction of Pluit. Unexpectedly, the suspect was carrying a sharp knife type weapon. Panic and defending himself, the perpetrator slashed a knife on victim Abdul Rohim in his hand and injured him," explained Iwan.

Meanwhile, other Transjakarta passengers and officers helped by intervening. Furthermore, Transjakarta officers contacted the police who were in the vicinity of the Transjakarta bus stop.

"There are police officers near the bus stop on duty, they immediately went up to secure the suspected pickpocket and the victim was taken to the police station," he said.

Meanwhile, from the identity card of the suspected pickpocket, he is listed as a resident of Bangun Jaya Village, Ulu BTS Subdistrict.
