JAKARTA - Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, explained the details of the mistakes that made M Taufik's punishment heavier until he was dismissed from the cadre.

The former deputy chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD was considered to be too complicated in giving explanations when examined by the party honorary assembly (MKP) regarding the news that was recently widely discussed.

It is known, M Taufik is rumored to be moving to the NasDem Party to support the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, running as a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election.

"The sentence against M. Taufik's brother is severe because the assembly considers the person concerned to be complicated and dishonest in giving information when examined at the honorary assembly," Habiburokhman told reporters, Tuesday, June 7.

In addition, the spokesman for the Gerindra Party, M Taufik, was also considered not to maintain the mandate properly while serving as Chair of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra DPD.

"Another thing that is also burdensome is the performance of M Taufik, who did not hold the mandate when he was the chairman of the Gerindra DKI Jakarta Regional Representative Council as well as the deputy chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD," said Habiburokhman.

As a result, he said, Prabowo-Sandi lost votes in the 2019 presidential election. In addition, there is no permanent office for the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party DPD.

"Strong indications are the defeat of Prabowo-Sandi in DKI Jakarta, and the absence of the Gerindra DPD Secretariat building like other strategic provinces," continued Habiburokhman.

As announced by the Deputy Chairperson of the Party Honorary Council, Wihadi Wiyanto, Habiburokhman also mentioned M Taufik's other record of mistakes. Where he was involved in the alleged corruption case in land acquisition in Munjul, Pondok Rangon, East Jakarta.
