Ahead Of Eid Al-Adha, Minister Of Agriculture Syahrul Said That The Stock Of 42,268 Tons Of Beef Was Sufficient

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo ensures the availability of a safe supply of beef to meet people's consumption needs ahead of Eid al-Adha with a total stock of 42,268 tons.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Agriculture after directly checking the supply of meat in Jakarta today. The availability of meat before Eid is sufficient for domestic consumption.

The Ministry of Agriculture together with the local government continues to make efforts to handle and control outbreaks of oral and animal diseases (FMD) that infect livestock in several areas.

Regarding stock security from the threat of PMK, he emphasized that currently strict restrictions on livestock traffic have been carried out to prevent the spread of the disease so that beef can be safely consumed.

"We don't need to worry because the supply from areas that are included in the green zone, namely areas where there are no cases of FMD, is sufficient for our needs, especially for Eid al-Adha. We will continue to maintain and stabilize the cattle distribution process so that livestock supply and demand can run smoothly," he said in a written statement, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, June.

Minister of Agriculture Syahrul emphasized that collaboration of all parties is very necessary in preventing the spread of FMD outbreaks, especially in each area, although the recovery rate of livestock shows a positive trend and control efforts continue to be improved.

"We don't take the existing PMK case lightly, but in dealing with this we need to cooperate with all parties," he said.

His party together with the regional government and the police continue to focus on working according to the tasks in controlling PMK that have been prepared. The crisis center post continues to be actively monitored, veterinary medical personnel are working to optimally deal with this outbreak, and training for the education of extension workers and others is also being carried out.

"Currently PMK exists and does not harm humans. We have also asked for the MUI fatwa and it has been issued. This is proof that the state is here to control so that everything goes well," said Syahrul.
