Ganjar Pranowo Proposes The Concept Of Twin Villages, When Villages In NTT And Java Learn From Each Other

JAKARTA - Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo proposed the concept of twin villages to members of the All-Indonesian Village Government Apparatus Association (Papdesi).

The hope is that underdeveloped villages can progress and prosperity is more evenly distributed. This concept can be realized if Village Heads (Kades) throughout Indonesia share knowledge with each other.

"We propose that between them they can create twin villages. So later they will learn from each other, NTT and Java, maybe NTT and Sumatra, Sulawesi and Kalimantan, we gather together, so that later there can be added value from this organization to prosper the people," said Ganjar in a written statement, Monday, June 6.

Ganjar, who is the chairman of the Papdesi Board of Trustees, said that there was a lot of innovation in the villages during the pandemic. Especially innovations related to food security.

"In my opinion, during yesterday's pandemic, there were a lot of innovations in the village. I saw village ojol for example, applications for example," said Ganjar.

"Or maybe how do we maintain food security in the village in the midst of a world situation like this. Our village is stronger, it is being guarded continuously by friends from the village head, village officials," he continued.

Ganjar also appreciated the village heads throughout Indonesia, especially those who attended the Papdesi National Working Meeting. According to him, Papdesi is part of the village government's efforts in the midst of geopolitics that will move.
