3 People Become Suspects Of The Khilafatul Muslim Convoy In Brebes

SEMARANG - The police have named three suspects related to the alleged convoy of the Khilafatul Muslimin organization in Brebes Regency that occurred some time ago.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Iqbal Alqudusy, said the three suspects were branch leaders.

They each had the initials GZ as the head of the Khilafatul Muslimin Jamaah branch, DS, and AS, which was the leader of the Khilafatul Muslimin Jamaah branch.

Kombes Iqbal said the determination of the suspect was based on the examination of witnesses and evidence.

"There were 14 witnesses who were examined, including experts," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 6.

Iqbal explained that they were the party responsible for the convoy on May 29, 2022.

In the convoy, he continued, the Khilafatul Muslimin were suspected of spreading false news to the public and potentially treason.

The three suspects were charged with Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning the Criminal Code and/or Article 107 of the Criminal Code concerning treason.

He said the potential for treason arose over the alleged existence of the Khilafatul Muslimin, known as HTI embryos, which are currently banned in Indonesia.
