'Guerrilla' Up To Brebes, Kendal And Indramayu, 2 Perpetrators Of Specialized Pickup Car Theft Arrested

SEMARANG - City Police (Polrestabes) Semarang, Central Java arrested two members of a gang of thieves specializing in cross-town pickups.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Donny Lumbantoruan said this gang had already 'guessed' Semarang City, Brebes Regency, Kendal, Boyolali, and Indramayu (West Java).

According to him, this gang took action in Semarang City on May 27, 2022. "This gang stole a Mitsubishi L300 car at a building shop in the Ngaliyan area," he explained when the case was released in Semarang, Antara, Monday, June 6.

The two suspects who were arrested respectively have the initials T (38), a resident of Indramayu, West Java and ZA (43) a resident of Pedurungan, Semarang City. Apart from the two suspects, there are two other perpetrators who are still being sought.

Donny explained that in its action the gang had previously gone around looking for targets.

"The perpetrators took action in the middle of the night. After getting the target, they used the T key to take away their target car," he said in Semarang, Monday,

The stolen cars, he continued, were then sold for Rp. 10 million, the proceeds being divided equally among all members.

For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft.
