JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia informs that as many as 3,169 hajj candidates from five embarkations will depart on June 5, 2022.

"Yesterday 2,776 people were dispatched, while today 3,169 people were dispatched from a total of eight flying groups from five embarkations," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Organization (PHU) of the Ministry of Religion Ahmad Abdullah, in a virtual press conference attended from Jakarta, quoted from Between, Sunday 5th June.

The five embarkations, he said, were Padang, Bekasi, Solo, Surabaya and the Jakarta-Pondok Gede Embarkation.

Thus, he said, the total number of pilgrims who have departed from yesterday to today is 5,945 people.

"Like yesterday, the pilgrims who departed today will also land in Medina," he said.

Ahmad Abdullah added that today's weather conditions in Medina ranged from 30-43 degrees Celsius with an average humidity level of around eight percent.

"The government again reminds all pilgrims who are prospective Hajj pilgrims to be aware of weather conditions, thus limiting outdoor activities," he said.

In addition, he said, prospective pilgrims are advised to maintain their health, maintain their diet and get adequate rest.

In addition to maintaining health conditions, his party also reminded prospective hajj pilgrims to maintain health protocols.

"Each hajj candidate is advised to maintain health conditions, eat and drink on time, and get enough rest. We also ask families to remind the information and advice to prospective hajj pilgrims, both those who have departed and those who have not," he said.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Abdullah also informed about one pilgrim candidate who died upon arrival in the Holy Land, namely Suhati Rahmat Ali, a congregation member of the Jakarta-Pondok Gede Embarkation Flight 1 Embarkation Group.
