JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin asked the elderly (elderly) to maintain productivity by maintaining health, starting from regular exercise to health screening.

"Our job at the Ministry of Health is to make sure the elderly know how to live a healthy life," said Budi Gunadi Sadikin during the Kick Off of the Elderly Health Movement and the Launch of the Healthy IndonesiaKu (ASIK) application at the Ministry of Health, quoted from Antara, Jakarta, Friday 3 June.

According to Budi, efforts that can be made include physical activities such as walking, exercising, riding a bicycle or other sports for 30 minutes, 5 days a week. In addition to physical activity, the Minister of Health also recommends that the elderly do brain exercises.

Minister of Health Budi emphasized that preventive and promotive efforts were the most effective way to keep oneself healthy. Therefore, a healthy living routine should start early.

"Even from the age of 50, you can still start a healthy life routine, don't wait until you reach the age of 60 (60 years). Start by doing physical activity for 30 minutes every day at least 5 days a week.

In addition, routine health screening efforts must be carried out to speed up diagnosis when there is a potential for more severe disease, so that prevention efforts can still be carried out.

“If indications of serious illness can be detected early, then we can be more sure of our health going forward. Maintaining health is much better and cheaper," he said.

The Minister of Health also launched the IndonesiaKu Sehat Application (ASIK) which can be used by health workers to record the results of patient health examinations.

ASIK is a digital recording of individuals for early detection of non-communicable diseases which is currently running for productive ages above 15 years to old age.

Recording of individual early detection results by health workers, posyandu/posbindu cadres, caregivers through SehatIndonesiaKu (ASIK) and independently (self-assessment) related to risk status through the development of the next stage of PeduliLindungi.

Budi said the two applications would be integrated and complement each other so that monitoring by primary health care facilities is easier, the risk status of the community can be accurately identified, drug administration and recommendations for further medical action to referral health facilities can be carried out as efficiently as possible.

“The two applications will be integrated with each other later. The ASIK application will record the results of the patient's health examination which can later be accessed by the patient on the care-protect application," he said.
