NTB - A total of 2,500 joint personnel will be involved in securing the implementation of the 2022 Samota Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) on Sumbawa Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) from 24 to 26 June.

"So the 2,500 personnel are a combination of personnel from the TNI and Polri," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Senior Commissioner of Police, Artanto in Mataram, Friday, June 3.

Specifically for the National Police, Artanto ensured that his party had started carrying out security activities to welcome the extreme sports event which will take place on June 24-26, 2022.

"We implemented security from an early age through KRYD (improved routine activities)," he said.

One of them is by intensifying field patrols to prevent disturbances to security and public order.

"There is also a special team formed to routinely carry out raids on the circulation of liquor which we all know can trigger criminal acts in the community," he said.

Learning from the experience of securing the 2021 World Superbike and 2022 MotoGP events at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency, his party has also prepared a special team to monitor the smooth flow of vehicles to the MXGP circuit area.

"This attention is to prevent traffic jams. We also monitor the road infrastructure to the event location. We anticipate rat roads," said Artanto.

Likewise with health care. Artanto ensured that his party would provide complete personnel support with the preparation of first aid medical facilities.

"Later approaching the event, we will place a health post around the location. We are alerting a medical team from the Police," he said.

Police support in the success of this activity is also focused on the logistics distribution process for the MXGP event.

"Security will see where the logistics go down, and which distribution channel, that's what we are coordinating with the government and organizers," he said.

The MXGP Samota Circuit on Sumbawa Island is built on an area of 18 hectares. The length of the circuit reaches 1,800 meters.

In the racing event which will last for 3 days, there will be "Free-Practice" activities, qualification, MX2, and MXGP.
