JAKARTA - West Nusa Tenggara Police investigators have arrested a suspect in a corruption case in the management of the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) in Mawu, Bima Regency in 2017.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Artanto, said that his party had detained the suspect with the initials AA, who was the former Head of Mawu Village, at the NTB Police Detention Center.

"This detention is part of the interest of the investigation to prevent the suspect from escaping, destroying or eliminating evidence, or repeating a crime," said Artanto, Friday, June 3, quoted from Antara.

The suspect's detention was carried out by investigators of the Corruption Crime Sub-Sector (Tipikor) of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the NTB Police, Friday (3/6) morning.

The suspect was picked up by investigators at his home which is domiciled in Bima Regency. Investigators took the suspect from Bima Regency to Lombok Island by air.

Regarding the progress of the handling, Artanto said that the prosecutor had stated that the case files belonging to the suspect were complete.

Therefore, in the near future, investigators will carry out phase two, namely transferring the suspect and evidence to the public prosecutor.

In the case file, investigators have revealed indications of state losses with a value of Rp600 million. The emergence of this loss can be seen from a number of physical and non-physical projects.

The value of state losses is quite large in the construction of multi-purpose building projects.

Work on the construction project cost the 2017 APBDes worth IDR 380 million. In allegation, the results of the work did not match the plan.

There are indications of a lack of work volume on a number of building items. The allegation emerged from the findings of the village infrastructure engineering team (PDTI).

In addition to finding indications of losses from the multi-purpose building construction project, there are also posyandu construction, football field maintenance, gang rebates, poskamling and village operational budgets.

Mawu Village, which is included in Ambalawi District, Bima Regency, manages the 2017 APBDes which is sourced from village funds and village fund allocations. Its value reaches Rp. 1.4 billion.
