JAKARTA - Due to an electrical short circuit, one unit of a two-story house on Jalan Shooting Field, RT 01/07, Pekayon Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta, was engulfed in flames.

According to local residents' testimonies to officers, sparks suddenly appeared and got bigger on the 2nd floor of the house.

"Suddenly the fire has spread from the second floor of the house," he told officers, Friday, June 3, early in the morning.

The incident was then reported to the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. office at around 03.23 WIB. After receiving the fire report, as many as 7 fire engines were dispatched to the fire site to extinguish it.

The house is known to belong to a resident with the initials AY. There were no fatalities or injuries as a result of this incident. However, the owner of the house suffered material losses.

"The burnt area is 90 square meters. Losses are estimated at Rp 120 million. The cause is a short circuit," he said.
