Prosecutor's Office Immediately Appoints Corruption Suspects Honorarium For Makassar Satpol PP

MAKASSAR - The South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Suulsel) immediately named a suspect in the alleged corruption case of misuse of honorarium allowances for the Makassar City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) from 2017 to 2020.

"In the near future, the South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office investigator team will name a suspect for the alleged abuse of authority that harmed the Makassar City Budget," said Head of the Information and Legal Section (Kasi Penkum) of the South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office, Soetarmi, in Makassar as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 2.

The decision was made after an intelligence operation was carried out related to the alleged corruption at the Makassar Satpol PP institution.

In addition, according to the instructions of the Head of the South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office, R.Febrytrianto, stated that based on the results of the exposure, the case was upgraded to the investigation stage.

It was found that there were indications of misuse of the Satpol PP operational allowance honorarium in 14 sub-districts throughout Makassar City from 2017-2020.

As for the modus operandi of the case, it started with the preparation and arrangement of the Satpol PP personnel who would serve in 14 sub-districts, but in fact some of the Satpol PP officers named in the BKO never carried out their duties.

"But the honorarium budget is disbursed by officials who are not authorized to receive the Satpol PP honorarium," said Soetarmi.

However, his party has not detailed who the potential suspects are, although there have been 30 witnesses who have been examined in the alleged corruption case

"The state losses already exist, but we have not exposed them, because investigators are still investigating. The value is likely to increase because it starts from 2017 to 2020," he asserted.
