JAKARTA - A viral video of a nursing student confides about her experience of installing a catheter or urination aid to a man her age.

The student is currently practicing at the Wonosari Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). He talked about inserting a catheter in the form of a video and then uploaded it to the TikTok platform.

"When I had to put a urinary catheter/DC for a male patient. How beautiful is he, his age again," he wrote in the caption for his video upload on TikTok.

He also affixed a statement saying he remained professional in front of the patients he was treating. "But still have to be professional, yes," he continued.

Soon the post became a scene after the Twitter account @AREAJULID re-uploaded in the form of a screenshot yesterday. However, many commented that the prospective health worker was suspected of having sexually harassed his patient.

The commotion was discovered by the student, who immediately gave a clarification. He explained what his upload meant.

The student said uploading a video about inserting a catheter into a male patient was not what most people think. He argued that his uploads on TikTok were just for entertainment.

"This TikTok video is just for fun, I also don't mention who the patient is. It's more about sharing experiences and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way," said the student who is known to be from Aisyiyah University (Unisa) Yogyakarta.

At the end of her explanation, the student apologized to those who felt offended. He did not expect the video to go viral and become a scene.

While the use of words that indicate the stature of a male patient when a catheter is being used, the student reasoned it was only as an "additional" course.

"My content is really bad because some people think it might be a joke, some people think it's sexual harassment but to be honest from me personally it doesn't mean anything. The word handsome or handsome is just an addition," he continued.

Wonosari Hospital Clarification

Not only female students, Wonosari Hospital also clarified responding to the viral video.

They explained that it was true that a woman dressed as a health worker placed a catheter on a male adolescent patient in the hospital. However, the hospital confirmed that he was an intern student.

"Responding to the video content that is currently viral in the media. We at Wonosari Hospital convey that the person concerned is not an employee of the Wonosari Hospital, but a student from University X who is practicing at the Wonosari Hospital," wrote the official Instagram account of the Wonosari Hospital, @RSUD_Wonosari.

Wonosari Hospital admitted that it would deepen the case. With the incident experienced by the male adolescent patient and the parties affected by the circulating video, Wonosari Hospital expressed his apologies.

"This incident will be immediately followed up by the Wonosari Hospital Management Team. We apologize for the inconvenience - PPID Wonosari Hospital -," said the clarification.
