8 Of 9 Students Arrested While Trying To Be Freed, 1 Person Still Detained Over Sharp Weapons

JAKARTA - As many as 8 teenagers who were detained by the Precision Team of the Central Jakarta Metro Police when they were about to get into a brawl on Jalan Timah Raya, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta were finally returned to their respective parents, Thursday, June 2.

This repatriation was carried out after his party conducted a deeper investigation and found no criminal element to the 8 teenagers.

The Head of Kemayoran Police, Kompol Ardiansyah, confirmed that his party had repatriated the teenagers who were previously detained.

"There were 9 people who were arrested, then we sent 8 people back with a note that they made a statement on stamps that they would not do the same thing," said Kompol Ardiansyah when confirmed, Thursday, June 2.

While one teenager is still being detained because he was found to have a sharp weapon.

"Another one is still being investigated regarding sharp weapons," he said.

A total of 8 teenagers were sent home, accompanied by their respective parents. The parents of the teenagers also received guidance to better supervise and direct their children to positive things.

"Before they are sent home, we also train the youths so they don't repeat the same actions," he said.

Previously, it was reported that as many as 9 students were detained by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Precision Team when they were about to get into a brawl on Jalan Timah Raya, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, June 1, early in the morning. Several sharp weapons were also seized.
