BANDUNG - Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna confirmed that his party would find a solution to be able to resolve the land case for a public elementary school in the area that was being sued by the heirs.

According to him, the heirs' lawsuit regarding the SD land was due to the SD Inpres (Presidential Instruction) policy in the New Order era. At that time, he was sure that the land owner had agreed to donate his land into a school.

"When we talk about history, we know that there is an Inpres, we know that every time there is an Inpres that assistance is given, land must be donated," said Dadang in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 2.

In May 2022, news emerged that the SD Negeri Margahayu 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 were being sued by nine heirs who were descendants of the school's land owner. A number of heirs demanded that the government compensate for the land built by the school.

Dadang said that the demand requires a judicial mechanism to be taken. The government cannot immediately issue a budget to pay the compensation. "If the decision is inkrah, we are obliged to carry out these obligations," said Dadang.

A similar case, according to him, also has the potential to occur in other lands that have now been built by SD Inpres. Because, he said, the land was built for education reasons.

"Because this is for the world of education, I think when the New Order era was carried out by this Presidential Instruction, I am sure that those who donate will get rewards for building educational facilities," he said.

Meanwhile, Vitria Suciani Tejaningrum, the attorney for the heirs, said the land belonged to the late Apandi. The land process was built into an elementary school, according to him, around 1979.

He admitted that he had tried to hold mediation with the government and legislators. However, until now there has been no answer, so his party took the judicial route.

"From our side it is very conducive, please continue the education or continue, we really support the government's program, because we also want to educate the nation's children. We want to establish good relations with all parties, but the rights of our clients are still prioritized, because as citizens and have the same position," he explained.
